Experience Cafe Cino.
Where community, culture, and sustainability come together one cup at a time.
Now Open at Bridge District.
We’re excited for the opportunity to expand our business and open our first brick & mortar space at the newly developed Bridge District, an eight-acre neighborhood development with residential units, shops, restaurants, parks, a cyber innovation hub, and bike paths, adjacent to Anacostia Park in Southeast D.C. In addition to expanding our retail offerings to include a full-scale espresso, pastries, and smoothies, our cafe will serve as a micro arts & culture venue, hosting live jazz sessions and other community-centered programming to become a hub for the city’s creative community east of the river.
With this expansion, we are securing funding to launching our “brother” operation Nico’s Kitchen: a modular food prep kitchen that will power our all-day-cafe with Modern American Gastronomy, with international influence from our family’s Black American, Brazilian, and German roots.
Slow Bar at PLNTR.
Pour-Overs all day long! Staying true to our roots, we’ll continue to serve our filtered coffee and loose leaf tea lovers on Saturdays and Sundays inside the jungle-oasis of PLNTR.
Espresso & More at the Bridge District.
All the Classics & then some! At Bridge District, we have a full espresso program, plus seasonal drinks, fresh baked pastries, & soon-to-come smoothies, sandwiches & small plates.
Our Story
Café Cino is a locally owned boutique café rooted in community, craft, and culture. Founded by husband and wife duo Ron Collins and Carolina Meurkens, the café began as a small-scale pop-up in 2022 inside Dupont Circle plant store PLNTR and quickly earned a loyal following for its specialty coffee, curated tea program, and community-driven events. Known for its single-origin pour-overs and partnerships with both local roasters and international farms, Café Cino blends sustainability and intentional sourcing with a welcoming, creative atmosphere. With its first brick-and-mortar opening at the Bridge District in 2026, Café Cino continues its mission to bring people together through coffee, food, and experiences.
As musicians + artists ourselves, we love hosting live music to pair with our coffee tastings + other activations.
